Individual Physical Therapy by CoreCare Physical Therapy & Wellness, LLC has a unique approach to patient-centered care. We truly believe that individual treatment can make a tremendous difference in the quality of life and overall outcomes we are able to achieve with our patients. You will receive a full hour of attention from a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Your time is valuable and it will not be shared with other patients nor passed on to a tech. You will be seen in a quiet, private treatment room where the attention is on you and your individual needs. We believe that highly skilled manual therapy services from an experienced physical therapist are one of the best tools we have to help you recover from a recent injury or whether you have been in pain for years. We believe in treating the whole person - educating you on lifestyle changes, exercises that you can perform independently at home, communicating efficiently with your doctors and focusing on YOU! Your care is based on the best clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice that is determined by your physical therapist based on your individual needs, not what the insurance companies will pay for. If you are looking for a different approach to your exclusive needs, if you have not had success with traditional physical therapy approaches, if you value your time and money - Individual Physical Therapy is the right choice for you. Please call and ask to speak to a physical therapist, we are happy to take the time to answer any questions you may have before entrusting us with your care.

Sonya Worthy-Okolo, PT

Soyna-Worthy-Okolo

Sonya is a native of Asheville, NC. She has been a licensed Physical Therapist since graduating from University of Maryland- Baltimore in 1992. She has experience working in a variety of clinic settings including acute care/trauma, home health, and outpatient orthopedic/sports medicine. During her career, Sonya has served as a Credentialed Clinical Instructor to local students, Mentor to new colleagues, Senior P.T. and Director of a private practice. After delivering her "pride and joy", Sonya began to have pelvic floor issues. Her experience as a patient sparked her pursuit of a Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification through the Herman & Wallace Rehab Institute.

After years of treating patients and supporting an extensive network of hospital-based physicians, she transitioned to Individual Physical Therapy seeking to provide more comprehensive and holistic care. Working in this new freedom, she is able to offer patients 1:1 treatment and attention thus addressing the multiple factors impacting the body's function. She believes the patient is the captain of the team and she is one of many players that can support, empower, and assist in achieving health goals. To maximize patient outcomes, in addition to a personalized exercise program, she frequently incorporates many techniques into her treatment including muscle energy, joint & soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, neural dynamics, and pain science principles. She is a proponent of getting to the root cause of problems, educating patients about their bodies, and offers a safe environment to address topics often deemed "embarrassing or unspeakable". Sonya's personal experience and belief in the mind-body connection gives her a unique perspective and empathy to provide a holistic and highly-skilled approach to pelvic rehab.
